We went in December. Although the weather couldn't be helped by the tour company, it definitely impacted on the experience. It says it was running twice a day but when we got to the morning one, which was actually accompanied by clear skies and some sun, we were told it was cancelled and to come back later. When we went back, it was so foggy. The trip would be much more enjoyable in the summer, when it's a bit warmer and there is more to see. Having said that, blankets were provided which was nice! Hot food and drinks could also be purchased on the boat, which weren't too expensive either! 😊

My daughter and I just landed back in the USA and want to go back to Norway. Loved your country! The beauty of the land, friendliness of people, and interesting culture are all reasons to return. We stayed at Airbnb's and all turned out to be wonderful places and hospitable hosts.
In Oslo and Bergen we used public transport and worked out well. Safe, clean and convenient, well done Norway!
We are Norwegian Americans fifth generation from when our ancestors immigrated and I'm proud to claim Norway as much as my country USA. Modern Norwegians should be very proud of the country they have built.
I will be returning as soon as I am able to do so. Thank you for a great vacation. I am motivated to live more like my Norwegian relatives than the American way of life. So many aspects of your culture are healthy and positive. Well done again.
"Most amazing attraction in Oslo"

My boyfriend and I went last Friday to the evening cruise on the Oslo fjords. It was the only evening where the sky was clear, even if it was windy, it was the best experience ever.
Staff members were really nice. The prawns buffet was huge, served with bread, salad and butter. It was enough to consider it as dinner and it was delicious.
The cruise is amazing and was worth every penny.
Our heads are full of unforgettable memories and we will never forget this evening, it was stunning.
We highly recommend it.

Recommended by Peterik, 22 Aug 16
Eksempel fra turen: "Many birds come to Oustøen to make eggs."(!)

Myself and a friend booked (online prior to arrival in Oslo) for a trip on the fjord leaving from Oslo harbour. We had a lovely time on the trip and we were very impressed by the boat and also the service on board. We felt the price we paid for the 2 hour trip was really good and a fantastic way to see Oslo and the fjord from the water. We opted for the 15:30 tour and although we had paid prior to arrival in Oslo, we signed up for that time and collected our tickets the morning of the tour (ca. 10:30am). This is a MUST because if you pre-pay online as we did, and you don't select a specific time then you must collect your tickets and put your name down for the time you would like because the trips get very busy and booked up with people buying tickets on the day.

We really enjoyed the boat tour with the guide's commentary. You will definitely want to sit closer to the front on a windier day, as it did get cold toward the back, but the views are arguably better. Some really interesting insight is shared about the region, culture and lifestyle of the local people, and you get a good feel for the Oslo Fjords. It made me want to visit the rest of Norwegian's Natural Beauty!

"Oslo Fjord tour by boat"
Recommended by , 12 Sep 14
We found the title of this tour was a little misleading. The tourist's understanding of a fjord versus that of the guides in Oslo is quite different. We were expecting the large canyon style of the north coast but instead had a tour of the neighbouring islands. The tour itself was interesting and we had no issues at all with the booking company. In fact, we had forgotten our tour confirmation on board our ship but the staff at BÅTSERVICE SIGHTSEEING checked their paperwork, found our confirmation and had us in line within 15 minutes. Very nicely done.
Hello, thank you for you feedback. You have visited the Oslofjord, which is the only fjord in the Oslo area. This is quite clear both in the text on www.visitoslo.com and www.nyc.no, and in the brochure that you get at the Tourist Information office and on board.
The other fjords of the Western part of Norway are very far away from Oslo, at least 5-6 hours by train or car, and cannot be reached by boat on a two hour round trip.
The Oslofjord is different from the other fjords, and the pictures online and on the brochure show the islands of the Oslofjord and the itinerary of this trip.
We hope you enjoyed your stay in Oslo!

The tour guide was funny and entertaining, but very informative. The tour itself took you through the inlets and outlets of the islands within the Oslo fjord for 2 hours...this is an excellent way to see this beautiful region especially if you're only in Oslo for a short time. The boat ride was also very relaxing. This trip is highly recommended for photographers also because unlike other tours, the boat actually gets close enough to the islands so that you can take some great pictures. Finally, it's a great and relaxing way to soak in the sun while taking in some breathtaking views.
"Very Good Customer Service"
Recommended by Canadian Family, 04 Sep 13
We recently spent three days in Oslo. We took the 2 hour Fjord Cruise tour first and it was delightful. Our guide was excellent and provided many interesting, and often humourful, anecdotes about Oslo and the surrounding areas.
The next day we had booked for the 4-hour selected sites tour and of course it started to rain when we were at the sculpture park. This wouldn't have been so bad, except our tour bus departed without us, and from a different location than we had been told. Obviously no count was done prior to departure, because we were all of 20m to the left of our designated bus. After frantically trying to find the bus, in the rain, for almost 30 minutes, I spoke with one of the site guides who took me to a bus driver.
Both gentlemen were very kind. The driver called the office. We were promptly refunded our tour price and added to another tour free of charge. They made sure we knew the arrangements, showed us to our next bus, and were so very polite and helpful.
Because of this caring customer service, instead of continuing to be cold, wet and grumpy, once we got back to the hotel I promptly booked us for a third tour.
Their service is rather excellent and they take care of their customers.

Not sure of the value of this trip versus the city ferry service. It's not a functioning sail boat, and the tour is not that much different than what the city ferry service offers except that you can get food/drink available on board. I didn't take one of the evening musical tours, which may be better value. The staff on board are very nice and helpful. They get a thumbs up from me.

But, otherwise, the visit to the Museums and other places is good.
